2 Belgen - Essential (2007) + Energy (Special DJ Mix) (1986)

A career-spanning collection of 80's musics by 2 Belgians from Belgium + a (mediocre?) mid-80's single. Their early stuff kinda reminds of early Cure or Associates on tracks like Cocaine but then Lena is like amazing italo disco so like go figure. I think there's some Flemish on here? I don't know for sure what that charming tongue sounds like. The original version of Lena is also rad.

Here's something from an Athens GA band with a terrible name. It's a mostly instrumental album of pleasant "odds and ends" from Love Tractor. Downloaded this after seeing Athens, GA - Inside/Out at Egg City Radio's Post-Punk Film Fest a few weeks ago, which I definitely recommend.

The Wake - Harmony (1982) + Singles

The Wake, from Glasgow, on Factory Records, reminiscent of and as good as some of the best early New Order stuff! I was in Glasgow a few weeks ago, but only long enough to eat a really nasty KFC dinner and play a show at Optimo with WEAVE! The optimo guys were really cool but I wish I had gotten to see more of the city.

The Return of Egg City Radio's Post Punk Film Fest....

Anyone in LA in to what happens here would also be way in to Egg City Radio's Post Punk Film Fest 2 at the Cinefamily. It started off with what I hear was a truly epic tribute to New Wave Theater that featured a shit ton of unseen and rare footage from that local and legendary show. The other nights are sure to hold unimaginable bounties as well.
